Introduction
My computer science teacher always told me: “The computer is a super-fast dumb kid, and the only thing it can do are mathematical calculations. Remember that if the result of an operation is wrong, it means that the input is wrong”.
This is to say that if a machine receives the right training and is given the right data, the margin for error is minimized. There are already many types of artificial intelligence today, applied to many different contexts.
Self-driving vehicles
Think, for example, of SAE level 5 self-driving vehicles, i.e. vehicles capable of handling any driving situation independently of a driver, whose presence is not expected on board. In fact, this level of automation involves only passengers being carried. Do you think this is just a project or a prototype? Today, there are already such vehicles in the metros of Copenhagen, Singapore, Vancouver, Docklands (London), Hong Kong, Lille, Paris and Turin as well as in many airports.
